In its inaugural list of the
100 Best Workplaces for Millennials,
Fortune magazine listed eight ABC member companies representing 24 ABC chapters as the best-of-the-best workplaces for young professionals. Administered by Great Place to Work Institute, more than 90,000 millennial employees from 465 companies nationwide were surveyed in order to select the top 100 winners.
The eight ABC members who made the list include:

- #43: Power Design, Inc.
- #44: Baker Donelson
- #68: Hilti
- #73: PCL Construction
- #82: Aflac
The survey asked millennials under the age of 35 to respond to questions about how frequently they experience the behaviors that create a great workplace. This resulted in a total score for each company based entirely upon employee feedback.
For example, ABC member Power Design employees reported feeling a strong sense of responsibility without micromanagement. "The level of freedom that we have in the field is unmatched," says one employee. "This autonomy makes everything that we do a personal achievement as well as a company one." The company also has a 12,000 square-foot training center offers employees an average of 150 hours of training and mentoring each year and their headquarters includes a full café, a basketball court and a game room with two ping pong tables, a pinball machine and a poker table.
For number five, Acuity, employees describe the company as generous due to their extensive charitable endeavors, the 8-percent company contribution to 401(k) accounts, profit sharing and 50-pound gift boxes at the holidays. They also have a fun work environment with including an indoor Ferris wheel event, and get-togethers such as a chocolate festival and a free breakfast each quarter served by executives. In turn, employees say they put a lot into their work and are proud to do so.
