    ABC’s 2017 Young Professional of the Year Finalists Named

      In preparation for the upcoming Future Leaders Lab, ABC named the three finalists for ABC’s 2nd annual Young Professional of the Year Award who were selected among a group of nominees representing 20 ABC chapters across the country. Finalists were chosen based on their career achievement, leadership and vision for future industry enhancement.

    ABC National Prepares for Upcoming Election

      As part of ABC’s ongoing efforts to elect pro-Merit Shop candidates to elected office and maintain a majority in the US Senate, association staff is conducting their second FEA Travel Team visit of the 2016 election cycle.  Earlier this month, the team was in Florida to support the re-election campaign of Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) and is currently deployed to Pennsylvania to encourage ABC members to get out the vote for Senator Pat Toomey (R-PA).  Funded by ABC’s Free Enterprise Alliance, Travel Teams visit ABC member contractors in targeted states to deliver important Get Out The Vote materials and encourage support for ABC endorsed candidates. Once member company offices are closed for the day, Travel Teams volunteer at local campaign offices to conduct voter outreach.  Between Florida and Pennsylvania, FEA Travel Teams will visit over 1000 member companies and commit approximately 160 volunteer hours to electing ABC-endorsed candidates.

    LSU Construction Management Students Gather Real-Life Experience from ABC Young Professionals

     
    Many young leaders in the industry can relate to construction management students who are trying to gain a competitive advantage as they prepare to enter the real world. At the ABC Pelican Chapter, they saw this as an opportunity to connect their young professional group with the ABC Student Chapter atLouisiana State University (LSU) to mentor them in hopes to bring home a win at the 2016 ABC National Construction Management Competition.
