Brandon Mabile serves as the vice chair of the National Young Professional Committee, is highly involved in ABC's PAC efforts and is currently serving as a board member of the Greater Houston chapter. He's worked for Performance Contractors since college when he stated doing part-time work for the company.
Q1: What’s your role at Performance Contractors?
A1: I am the Texas Region Business Development Manager.
Q2: How did you get into the construction industry?
A2: I grew up around the construction industry and I started with Performance Contractors as a student worker in my Senior year at Louisiana State University. I was given opportunities to advance quickly at Performance and what started out as part-time work quickly developed into a career I love.
Q3: What’s one thing that surprised you about the industry?
A3: The biggest surprise for me is the speed of the industry. The projects we work on can sometimes be in planning stages for years, but once we get the go ahead the speed to ramp up and construct a project can be staggering.
Q4: What do you enjoy most about your job?
A4: Watching things develop. I always compare it to planting seeds. I enjoy seeing a seed I've planted over a year ago suddenly sprout. You plant the seed with initial contact, water
it over time with continual contact, and eventually it turns into a contract. Then watching that contract go from concept to finished project.
Q5: How have you been involved with ABC?
A5: I’ve been involved with ABC for as long as I've been in industry. Since moving to Texas I've served as a PAC Trustee, PAC Chairman, Young Professionals subcommittee chair, and now I am serving as member of the Greater Houston Board of Directors.
Q6: What is your favorite part of being involved with the ABC Young Professionals?
A6: Meeting and networking with people in different parts of the industry.
Q7: What advice would you give to someone entering the industry?
A7: If you don’t love your job, go find another one. This industry is very rewarding, but it takes a lot of hard work and dedication. If you don’t love what you are doing it is going to be very
hard to be good at it.
